California's schools are now funded under a model known as the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). Under this model, districts are required to develop a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP guides priorities for budget development in eight areas. This process provides opportunities for community input during scheduled meetings, online surveys, and through formal parent events.
